Hi Calvin
I have had the ex1050 for a while and just managed to pick up the housing for a steel (£39.00), I am going to test it in or around the UK. Do you have any tips for setting up the white balance and other features so that I can just point and shoot, or is it just play around until I find the best settings for myself which could take a while
Thanks

I found a second hand housing for about 50$ and I got a second hand camera to fit it for another 50$ the exilim s500. Not a bad deal if you ask me :) Even if it doesnt have 110 megapixels and 3D images or a projector. My previous camera an Exilim z55 does also wonders but couldnt find the proper housing at the proper price :(

The EWC-80 is no longer in production. What you should do is consider picking up the new Casio EX-H10 w/ underwater housing. That combo will be fantastic!

Hi Calvin,

I have the 1050 and the EWC housing and have been very pleased with this camera combination particularly for macro shots. However, I'm just starting to think that a wide angle lens would be a nice addition. Do you have any thoughts on how I might be able to add a wide angle lens?

Hi Shannon,

The Casio is still a great option. However, I would still consider others, such as the compact cameras from Canon. You can read about these cameras and compare them by visiting DPReview. If you find a camera that interests you, visit that manufacturer's web site to see if they make an underwater housing for that model. Most housings for compact cameras run $200-300.

Best of luck to you, and enjoy your time in Belize, it's a wonderful country.

Hi! I've been reading great things about this camera for underwater photos. The pictures you have are amazing! My boyfriend and I are going diving with whale sharks in Belize in May and want to invest in a good digital camera, such as this, that works well underwater and above the surface, not a true underwater camera.
Since you originally wrote about this more than a year ago, do you still recommend it or is there something else that has come along? Any advice you have would be great!
Thanks!

I'm not sure about the Z1200, but the Z1050 didn't work with the EWC 80, because the screen sizes are slightly different.
