Light&Motion Bluefin + Sony HDR-HC7
October 4th, 2007
After taking a few videos of sixgill sharks lately, I realized just how lacking my Casio EX-Z1050’s video capabilities are. So, I decided last week that it was time to take the plunge and so I’m delving into the world of underwater high-definition video. I won’t tell you much about it yet, since I haven’t even gotten this rig wet yet - but I’ll leave you all with some photos that should make your mouth water….
The Sony HDR-HC7 shoots in 1080i High Definition, and sports 6.1 megapixel digital still capability.

Installation is easy, just screw the camcorder onto the sliding tray.

The track is slick as grease.

Integrated electronic motherboard allows all primary functions to be controlled from the two pistol grips.

This is one bad ass looking rig! (and neutrally buoyant)

Ready to take the new toy out for a spin (unfortunately I don’t have time to dive till this weekend).

Best of all, this whole rig travels very nicely in the overhead compartment.

I will report back with a thorough review once I’ve had some time in the water with the Light&Motion Bluefin HC7. Stay tuned….

A camouflage jacket? Really?
J/K, I am also jealous of the rig. We should get a mount and put it on a scoot.

So that’s why you asked me to take pictures of you and your rig. Looking forward to seeing the results!
